After your biometry and lens selection, the last choice is your focus. You and your ophthalmologist needs to decide your ideal plane of focus. For patients with monofocal IOLs , you can either pick near, intermediate or far as your plane of focus. For instance if you choose far, your vision will be set for seeing well at a distant (typically without the need of wearing glasses). This is ideal for driving, meanwhile for near such as reading up close - you will need reading glasses!
